TH13TEEN to close on Friday 13th?

Last week the Alton Towers Facebook page announced it would be closing it’s newest ride TH13TEEN on Friday 13th August.

“Following reports, Alton Towers Resort can confirm the temporary closure of TH13TEEN on Friday 13th August. This is a decision which has taken careful consideration following in-depth research. Findings show 1 in 3 people will change their behaviour on Friday 13th and we feel this is in the best interest of our guests, given the name of the ride.

The rest of the Resort will be open as normal.”

Comments from fans seem to suggest it is just a PR stunt but with no more word from Alton Towers I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!  Question is… Would you ride TH13TEEN on Friday 13th?
